Inline production line with an integrated spot welding robot

As part of a completely new production line for metal bed systems for recessed armchairs, Sedac-Mecobel was looking for an alternative to the relatively time-consuming and unreliable MIG / MAG welding process. Welding automation specialist Astratec developed and engineered, in close consultation with the company, an inline production line with an integrated spot welding robot that the company commissioned in April 2014. The combined experience of both partners helped reduce the production time of the produced bed frames to a good third.

Operation

• A complete welding cell with manipulators and a welding robot ensures that a frame for a sofa can be welded with spot welding technology.
• The welding cell is equipped with a switch manipulator so that a new product can be prepared during welding.
• The cycle time was guaranteed in advance.
